R K Srikantan is an Indian vocalist who worked in the Kannada language. He was born on 14th January 1920 in Rudrapatna, Hassan district in Karnataka. Srikantan was also awarded as the Madras Music Academy’s Sangeetha Kalanidhi in 1995. He completed his studies at Banumaiah High School in Mysore and completed his Bachelor in Arts from Maharaja College, Mysore.
Srikantan had got about 10+ awards in his entire life some of the remarkable ones are Central Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards by the Government of India in 1979, the Padma Bhushan Award by the Government of India in 2011, and many others.
