C V Shivashankar

CV Shivashankar is a celebrity of south TV and film industry. He was born on 23rd March 1933 in Tiptur Tumkur in Karnataka. He is known for, A Day in the City, he is a Kannada writer-director and producer. He was born to Mr. Venkatakrishna Bhatt and Mrs. Venkat Lakshmamma.

The renowned producer cum director has also won Dr. Rajkumar and Karnataka Rajyotsava awards. He started in the entertainment industry as an actor, assistant director and production manager in 1962 with his film Rathna Manjari.

In the following years, he only worked as an actor in films like Santha Thukaram (1963) and Postmaster (1964). After a gap of about a year, he got a chance to showcase his other talents in the movie Mane Katti Nodu.

Apart from acting in this film the story of the was also written by him. He also worked as a lyricist, dialogue writer, producer and director's associate. In 1967 he solely directed a movie Padavidhara. Following that, in the later years, in 1968, 1970, 1971, 1975, 1977, and 1978 he started directing and producing films all by himself. After that from 1978 till 2010 he worked in films only as a lyrics writer. These films include Savalige Saval, Thayiya Madilalli, Chellida Raktha, Thayiya Nudi, Thaliya Bhagya, Thayiya Hone, Yaake, Kannadada Kanda, Channa and Shambho Shankara. He was seen as one of the actors in Yaarivanu.

Released on 15th March 2013, Yaarivanu was based on Nityananda Swamiji’s life. After this, he was not seen as an actor in any other film. In 2015 working as a producer and lyrics writer A Day in the City was released. First shown on 14th February, it is a dramatic thriller directed by Venkat Bhardwaj.

Next, he was seen working as a producer and dialogue writer of Bablusha. Released on 2nd September 2016, the film was directed by Venkat Bhardwaj. Based on a true story of a family of Mallinathapura of 1501 this is a historical thriller. Mr. Shivashankar is also a famous singer, his songs include Mruthyunjay a part 1 and 2 and Cinema Sundari of 2014.
