Recently, a special event was organized for the late Kannada superstar on his 50^th birth anniversary by re-releasing his classic movie ‘ Appu Click to look into! >> Read More... ’. Puri Jagannadh, who had directed that movie, labelled him a ‘gem of Kannada cinema’ who will be hard to replace.

‘Appu’ was one of the four Kannada films that Puri Jagannadh had directed. Except for ‘Rogue’, most of these films starred either Dr. Shiva Rajkumar Shiva Rajkumar is the populous Kannada actor, who >> Read More... or Puneeth Rajkumar in the lead roles. ‘Appu’ starred Puneeth Rajkumar and Rakshitha in the lead roles, and revolved around the story of Appu, a carefree youngster who has no thoughts about securing his future, until he meets Suchi.

The movie was a blockbuster and remade in multiple languages. Interestingly, ‘Appu’ is one of the rare films to be made in both India and Bangladesh! Puneeth Rajkumar went on to become one of the greatest stars of Kannada cinema till date, until his life was cut short by a cardiac arrest in early 2022.
