Gurupriya Atreya is a voice artist, singer, and art curator based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Since her childhood, she has been interested in learning classical music, and therefore, she is professionally trained in Indian classical music under the guidance of Ustad Faiyaz Khan. She has also studied an arts-based therapy course known as Arts Practices for Inclusion with a non-profit foundation called Snehadhara Foundation. During the course, she worked with children in Makkala Jagriti and Anganwadis in Bangalore and taught varied art forms to the children of disadvantaged communities and poor socio economic backgrounds in an interactive and immersive way.
She got engaged with various projects, including The Living Room Kutcheri, the Arts Practitioner Programme, and Sing a Lullaby. Through these activities, she worked hard to make a difference in society in her own way and made an effort to bring together large groups of people and communities from different cultures to establish an inclusive society, holding each other.
Gurupriya has a sweet and melodious voice that reverberates in the halls of Bindumalini. The kids and adults, all bask in the glory of her powerful voice and appreciate her singing. She uses her voice and rhythm to attract people towards her voice and make them sing along with her. The people enjoy listening to her songs, playing along with drum beats, and sometimes even singing along with her. Some of her popular songs are Amna Bibi, Niza Niza Re, Kanne En Kanmaniye, Sri Vijayeshwari, Dayatoro, Duérmete Niño, Monsoon Song, Varam Ondru, Karunamayi, Kamakshi, Yeh Kya Nasha, etc.
