He was an Assistant Commissioner of Police (retired) and is famous for his exceptional career. Ashok retired in 2012 after a 35-year-long service. He has solved more than 26 kidnapping cases, 100 plus murder cases, several dacoits and robbery cases and he also encountered 18 dreaded criminals in Karnataka. Ashok served in the STF: The Special Task Force for five years to nab the Veerapan gang. During this service, his team was the most successful. Due to the highly thrilling and inspiring moments of his career, 5 Kannada movies are based on him.
They are Amanusha, Circle Inspector, Deadly Soma, Deadly Soma – Part 2 and Mynaa. He is a three-time winner of the President of India Gallantry Gold Medal. He has also won several other awards like Chief Minister of Karnataka Gold Medal and Karnataka Govt Kempegowda Award.
