The film released in April 2016 to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar. Siddarama Karnik was chosen to play the role of the Dalit leader Ambedkar in the film.

Siddaram Karnik is an academician who researched on the life of Dr. Ambedkar in the Dharwad region and was cast to play the role of Ambedkar as well. The film’s story was adapted from the research done by Siddaram Karnik himself. He has chosen a subject which needs a very bold mindset. The life of Ambedkar’s wife Ramabai is forgotten to many of us and it dates back to the 19th century. Although many historians know very well about Ramabai who though illiterate, had a lot of respect for Ambedkar. She always struggled but saw to it that no objection came in her husband's life or career. Although there was the difference between them in terms of literacy, both had due respect for each other.

It is said that Ramabai’s sacrifice had donned many feathers in Ambedkar’s caps. Thus the film details about the love and respect both Ambedkar and Ramabai had shared in their personal lives. There was no flaw in the script which was told effortlessly by the writer Siddaram, who also enacted his part commendably well.

This film is a lesson to put an end to the caste barrier in our society. Long back, Dr. Ambedkar married a Brahmin lady Ramabai to teach a lesson to the Brahmin caste. He had always felt that Brahmins did not pay due respect for women those days while a Dalit women received more respect from their husbands.

The script was not upto the level of cinematic excellence but neither was it average. It had given ample scope to Siddaram to convey the exact meaning the movie had for its viewers and had given him enough scope to perform well.
