Krish Joshi is an Indian director who primarily works in Sandalwood, the name given to Kannada film industry. Krish is a native of Dharwad in the northern part of Karnataka. Krish studied at Basel Mission High School in Dharwad. Later, he took admission at Karnataka College in the same city. In his formative years, he developed a liking for cinema and decided to pursue his career in movies. He had helmed a string of short films before he made “Gandhi Smiles” in 2014.
A Christmas release, the 26-minute flick has PavithraLokesh, MukhyamantriChandru, Umashree in its cast. “Gandhi Smiles” met with a positive reception with the critics applauded the director for his style of direction. Theaters screened Gandhi Smiles for 2-3 weeks which is good considering its running time as compared to a commercial Kannada movie. This motion picture got selected for the screening at several competitions and won the title of “Best Movie” at the Bangalore International Film Festival.
After his success, Krish got offers from different production houses for their projects. Principal photography began in the autumn of 2014 and got wrapped up in the summer of 2015. Parapancha released on 27th November 2015. Reviewers slammed the movie for its flawed content and acting. Journalists criticized Krish for his careless execution of the plot. In the film, Parapancha is a name of the pub where Diganth’s character is that of a waiter and Ragini plays a bar dancer’s role. Although Krish tried to implement Shakespearean influence in his story, it did not impress the audience.
Despite receiving criticism, Parapancha had a mediocre financial success at the Box-Office. Apparently, there were rumors of Diganth going nude for a pivotal scene in the comic caper. However, Krish quashed all of those speculations and termed it as false. During the filming of Parapancha, Krish tried to avoid Ragini’s pet dog who belongs to Siberian Husky breed, which led to funny incidents at Abhiman Studio. Krish has also done advertisement projects as well. He is quite active on social media.
