Raghuraj, also known as R. Raghuraj, is an Indian film director, known for his work in Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu, film industries. He started his career as a photojournalist and an apprentice editor to B. Lenin. He was debuted as a director in the 1997 Tamil drama film, Sakthi, which features Yuvarani and Vineeth in the lead roles. However, the film bombed at the box office and received negative reviews. Raghuraj took a break and returned with the very successful musical hit Telugu film, Kalusukovalani (2002).
This led him to do a Tamil remake of the film, entitled Ice in 2003. Unlike the success that Kalusukovalani has earned, Ice received negative reviews and did not perform well at the box office. The following year, he briefly worked with a film entitled Jockey, starring Malavika, Prashanth, and Lalila in the lead roles. However, the film was shelved. In the year 2009, Raghuraj started working on a trilogy and the first one was entitled Appavi. But the film had some delays due to some issue with the media and was only released in 2011.
He then shifted to doing Kannada films and started with an action packed film ‘titled Boss. It earned positive reviews and was later dubbed in Hindi as Double Boss. He consistently worked in the Kannada film industry until the year 2016 and directed films like Rama Rama Raghurama (2011), Sidila Mari Click to look into! >> Read More... In 2009, Raghuraj announced that he was working on a trilogy, with Appavi (2011) as the first of the three films. Since then, Raghuraj has worked on several films, mainly in three languages - Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada.
