Ere Gowda

Ere Gowda is an Indian Kannada film director, writer, and editor. He was born in Mandya, Karnataka, India. He went to ‘Government High School Chikkabyadarahalli,’ Karnataka for his school education. The nationality of Ere Gowda is Indian.

Ere Gowda has charted a unique journey from security guard to office assistant to film director and writer. This film got seven awards and a National Award for Best Kannada film at Locarno. He gained confidence from the ‘Thithi’ film which helped him become a director. In 2017, he wrote the script and directed his next Kannada film “Balekempa (The Bangle Seller).” This film has won several awards, nationally and internationally. In 2017, Balekempa film received the Work-in-Progress Lab 2017 award at Film Bazaar in Goa and the FIPRESCI award at the 47^th International Film Festival in Rotterdam.
