Abhishek Iyengar is a Kannada theater director and playwright born on 8 November 1984 in Bengaluru. He studied Physical Theatre Intensive at Double Edge Theatre in Massachusetts, USA. Abhishek has been working in the industry since 2006. He is also the co-founder of WeMove Theatre, a Bangalore-based theatre company alongside Rangraj Bhattacharya. Apart from Kannada, he has also written plays in English named P.S. I Don't Love You, Cocktail, Malgudi Express, and Anaavarana. Abhishek was awarded the Kannada Sahitya Parishat Award for his plays Magadi Days and By2coffee.
He has participated in several national-level theatre festivals and conferences. His experience includes working as a columnist for national newspapers in India. Abhishek has also been the World Theatre Ambassador for the World Theatre Map project by Emerson College, Boston. He has written around 6 stage productions that are presented in India and California and has directed over 140 theatre plays since 2010. Iyengar has over 14 years of experience in direction, writing, and production.
