Pradeep Varma is a Kannada director. He is also a lyricist and a screenwriter. He was born on 7th July 1981. He is 37 years old. He was born in Bengaluru, Karnataka. He learned painting at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath. He went to the school Jana Seva Vidya Kendra. He lives in Bangalore.  He got married to Navya Ashok Kumar Varma on 25th April 2012. He has a daughter named Impala Pradeep Varma. He is currently working in the Kannada Film Industry. He is the youngest son of his parent’s artist B. K. S. Varma and Shantha Varma. He has two other siblings. He did his studies in art later in Kalamandir School Of Arts, and later in the Chitrakala Parishad where he completed his degree in fine arts. He initially wanted to be an Art Director who led him to join as an Assistant Director in Sri in 2007. It was a National Award-winning movie directed by T.S. Nagabharana. His debut Film was Gulabi Street in 2011. He started his career as a short filmmaker before he made full length featuring films. His film had three actresses namely Harshika Poonacha, Shwetha Pandit, and Bhavana Rao. Hebelieves that film making is like war if you want to know more you should feel it. He has also made a short film in Hindi called Marasim which means abandoned relations. The grace of the poster expresses the story. Screened at the festival circuit. It is made on Mumbai based actors, and it gives the message that family is always there no matter what. He is planning his new project but would reveal the details after he has worked on the script and the cast. He has done movies with Manoranjan and his father, Ravichandran. His film Urvi is the only Kannada Film to be nominated in the Best Top 6 Film at Los Angeles Film Awards. This movie has brought the cinema to a next level and has received a stunning response. It released on 17th March 2017. Earlier, he did short films to check if he was capable of directing movies. This gave him confidence and then he started his career by working with great artists like Nagabharana Sir, Upendra Sir, and Imran Sardariya. He grabbed experience this way and then started working on his own. His film Urvi is based on real-life incidents. He has delivered the movie poetically and given a poetic touch too harsh realities based on women’s lives, about their depression, about their social conditions, and the problems faced by them. He believes that people will connect to it emotionally and also get to know about such incidents that women have to face. Urvi which means Kaali or Dark where Dark is portrayed asthe mother of Light. He has also come up with a short film Chakori which has won an award at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival Noida and selected as Finalist at The Film skillet International Film Festival Santa Barbara. He has also made other short films namely Marasim, Beyond The Clouds, and Kaateri. He won the Special Jury Award at Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival in Noida for his film Chakori. He also won the Best Feature Film 2017 Award at the New York City Indie Film Festival for his film Urvi. His movie Chakori was nominated as Best Short Film at the Film skillet Santa Barbara Film Festival. His movie Urvi was the first Kannada Film to get nominated for Best Feature Film at the Los Angeles Film Awards 2017. Urvi was also selected and nominated at the Miami Independent Film Festival for Best Feature Film 2012, selected at the Cyprus International Film Festival, and also at the Ischia Film Festival in Italy.
