Ashok is a Kannada actor and producer born on 12 September 1951 in Bangalore, Karnataka. He took birth to V. Lakshmi Narasimahaiah (police officer) and Puttama, his mother. Since the very beginning, he dreamt about being an Actor and was passionate about it. His zeal led him to enter the Madras Film institute. He also applied for FTTI, Pune. He made his debut with Hennu Samsarada Kannu starring Sridevi. He has worked opposite many top actresses. He also started a small industry to add to his income. He became the founding president of the Union of Karnataka film artists, workers and technicians.
He was a staunch supporter of the protests led by the Gobak movement and Raitha sangha. He has many films to his name- Vijaya Vani (1976), Sutrada Bombe (1976), Geddavalu Naane (1976), Deepa (1977)), Pavana Ganga (1977), Maralu Sarapani (1979), Kappu kola (1980), Rajeshwari (1981), Archana (1982), Raja Maharaja (1983), Shapatha (1984), Mugila Mallige (1985), Kempe Gowda (2014), Shivalinga (2016), Ombatanne Dikku (2022) and many more.
