Huma Qureshi is a model-turned-actress in Bollywood. Before making her debut in films, she has appeared in some commercial advertisements that had featured two B-town superstars Amir Khan and Shahrukh Khan. While she was shooting for an advertisement, director Anurag Kashyap offered her a role in ‘ Gangs of Wasseypur’.

She started her Bollywood career through a supporting role of a character named Mohsina in this film and went to receive appreciation from masses and critics. Once she was offered to play a role in Tamil gangster thriller titled ‘Billa-2’ to act opposite actor Ajith Kumar, but as the film was getting delayed, she opted out of the project and started her journey in B-town.

She is a young face in B-town who has worked in many theatrical productions in New Delhi. This actress was born in a Muslim family on July 28, 1986. Her father Saleem Qureshi runs a chain of restaurants in New Delhi. After the success of ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, she was seen in a film ‘ Sujata’ which is in one for the five short films produced by Anurag Kashyap.

Anurag had a compilation of five short films release in 2013, and Sujata was one among them, She was later seen in ‘ Dedh Ishqiya’, ’Badlapur’, Ek Thi Daayan, etc. She had earned a lot of recognition and merit for her performances in 2014-15 releases. This actress has bagged the lead role in Sanjay Gupta’s multi-star gangster flick, ‘ Madam X’ which has John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Sonu Sood and Manoj Bajpai. After the success of ‘Ek Thi Dayan’, Ekta Kapoor has signed this actress to play a lead role in a film ‘ Azhar’ which is a biopic on cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin.

The film has Saif, Ranbir, Ranveer Singh in the cast too. Qureshi will also be seen in an upcoming film ’Viceroy's House’ directed by Gurinder Chadha. She will be making her Telugu debut with the remake of Kangana Ranaut's film ‘ Queen’ and Malayalam debut with Uday Ananthan's ‘ White’ opposite Mammootty, and English debut with Gurinder Chadha's ‘Viceroy House’.

This actress is not a glamour doll in B-town but has surprised many filmmakers for her talent as she was groomed in the theater with the support of theatre based directors such as N.K. Sharma, Sohaila Kapur, Aamir Raza Husain and Rahul Pulkeshi.
