He is an Indian actor who has acted in both Hindi series and movies. He was brought up in a small town in Southern Mumbai called Girgaon. Though it was a minor role in the movie, it certainly did open doors for Mandrekar to other acting ventures in the film industry. It was not until a year later when he bagged his breakout role for a critically acclaimed series called C.I.D. He was given a supporting role of Sub-Inspector Sudhakar, where the storyline would usually revolve around a crime-investigation. C.I.D became highly popular among the Indian audience and it was well received by most of the critics. It now ranks as the longest running series in a television history spanning duration of almost nineteen years. Because of the success and its vast reach among the audience, the series was dubbed into many different languages.
