Vikas Bahl (Born 1971) is an Indian film producer, screenwriter, and director recognized for his work mainly in Hindi Cinema. He produces films under Phantom Films and was the ex-chief of UTV Spot Boy. So far, he has achieved three National Film Awards and one Filmfare Award. Bahl hails from Lajpat Nagar, Delhi. His father worked in the Indian Oil Corporation. He graduated from Ramjas College, Delhi. Then he moved to Mumbai and obtained his MBA degree from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). Vikas Bahl started off with advertising. After working for several years in client servicing, he joined UTV Spotboy. In the year 2011, he started Phantom Films, along with Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya, and Madhu Mantena. Over the years as a director he has worked with film directors like Vishal Bhardwaj, Anurag Kashyap, Rajkumar Gupta and Vikramaditya Motwane. In the same year, he co-directed the film ‘Chillar Party’ and won the ‘National Film Award for Best Screenplay’, jointly with Nitesh Tiwari and Vijay Maurya. The film also achieved the National Film Award for Best Children's Film. His first independent directorial work ‘Queen’ starring Kangana Ranaut, was released in 2014 received critical and popular acclaim. Bahl is currently working on film Shaandar, a destination wedding. It’s a story about an Indian family that goes to Europe. In October 2014, he directed a short film on women’s safety in the streets. Vikram Kapadia is one of the versatile names in Indian theater. He is a director, playwright and the energy source behind the Masque Theatre Group.
