Sonali Gudkawas born in Edgware, London, England. She is currently working as a very renowned Journalist and a Television Presenter. Born on 26th July1980 to immigrant parents from India, her parents run a pharmacy. Her parents being Indian, motivated her to start learning Indian classical and Indian folk dances. She is a trained dancer with an experience of over ten years. Adding to it, for the western culture of London, she also learned street dance on her own. Sonali has done her first and middle school at Long field School and her high schooling from White more High School in Harrow. For further studies, she did her broadcasting journalism from the Centre for Broadcasting and Journalism at Nottingham Trent University.
Sonali’s career has been very dynamic and flexible. She has worked for branches of ‘BBC’and also ‘Newsround.’ In ‘Newsround,’ Sonali joined as an afternoon relief presenter. After replacing some previous casters, Sonali was able to present breakfast, afternoon, and weekend bulletins for the show and also the main program from 2008. Shah also posted an online diary from the 2010 Commonwealth Games working for the Sports round (a branch of News round). On 9th November 2011, Shah announced that she would be leaving Newsround.
In August, Sonali shifted to BBC world news from her previous news channel. The daytime bulletin on the weekend was presented by her and she remained a relief presenter. After three years, Sonali in 2014 became a sports reporter for ‘Today’, which is the daily news program for BBC Radio . Currently, Sonali lives in London with her beloved husband Adarsh and their children, Ariana and Rafi. She is often seeing wearing very high heels while reporting as she is only 4’11 in height. She laughably says that she needs high heels to report tall sports persons.
