Nick Baker (also known as Nick Rowan Baker) was born in Surrey, England on 22nd April 1972. He is an English television presenter, a naturalist, and an author. He graduated in 1993 from the University of Exeter in biological sciences. As he was an enthusiastic naturalist since childhood, he used to spend more time in nature observing different species of animals from Badgers to Butterflies. He wants to change the people's perspective about, less-than-loved creatures, of the creatures that people think are ugly or scary. he founded Exeter University's bug club. He also did research on the "high brown fritillary butterfly" as a field naturalist.
He was married to her girlfriend Ceri in 2009 at Tavistock Register Officer and has a daughter. He is known for his highly famous series, "Weird Creatures with Nick Baker" where he traveled across the globe in search of weird and wonderful creatures. He is appreciated for his wildlife presentation skills and his interest in his subject. He has presented a lot of wildlife shows and interacted with people about this subject with enthusiasm and humor. He seems to enjoy every bit of his job and exploring different creatures which are not very well known or not at all known to the world. He was the host of "Autumnwatch Unsprung", "Springwatch Unsprung" on BBC, and "Deep Into the Wild" on Animal Planet.
Nick Baker also shares his knowledge and stories of wildlife from across the UK monthly, through the "Hidden Britain" column in BBC Wildlife Magazine. He also writes for other publications including Wildlife Watch, RSPB's Bird and Bird-life magazines, the Young telegraph, etc. He is the author of ten books including Baker's bug book and the Natural History Almanac. He has over twenty years of experience in hosting shows for BBC, National Geographic, and Discovery. He is also the vice-President of national wildlife charity, Butterfly Conservation and the president of charity "Bug Life.
