Ria Vandervis

Ria Vandervis, a 37-year-old actress, born on 5 July 1984 hails from Dunedin, New Zealand. She is famously known for her role as Harper Whitley in the famous soap opera Shortland Street.The talented actress has completed a 3-year course in acting from Auckland’s UNITEC School of performing and screen arts. Vandervis acted in multiple UNITEC theatre productions and short films from 2002 to 2006. She also bagged some amazing short films like Lovely Creature, A Telling Time, Tough Fortune Cookies, and Billy for Lilly. Vandervis can also be seen as supporting actor in the famous movie The Devil Dared Me To, and as a side actor in some TV shows like Cops L.A.C, Harry, and a lot more.

Vandervis ended up gaining a lot of popularity from her role in the show Shortland Street. What was initially a 6-month recurring contract turned out to become a regular role. She started getting recognition and was often stopped by fans for photos and autographs.The popularity reached a level where a female fan named her child 'Harper Ria' in honour of Vandervis and her character.
