Freema Agyeman, born on 20th March 1979 is a very talented actress, recording artist and model who works in the British and Hollywood TV industry. Freema was born and raised in London, she comes from the marriage of a mixed couple, her mother is Iranian and father is from Ghana. Freema studied in Our Lady’s Convent RC High School in Stamford Hill, and due to her passion for acting, she later joined Anna Scher Theatre School in Islington, later she joined Middlesex University and graduated with a degree of drama and performing arts in 2000.
She started her career off, by playing small and cameo roles in British TV series like Crossroads, Aisha The American, Mile High, Silent Witness and The Bill. In all these series, she appeared for not more than 2 or 3 episodes. But in 2008, she appeared in a role which would stick with her for the rest of her life, she starred as Martha Jones in perhaps the most famous British TV series of all time, Doctor Who. The role went on to form Freema’s career, she became extremely popular after that and started living life as a proper celebrity. For the role of Martha Jones, Freema revealed that she had to clear 3 auditions, but it was all worth it in the end. She also went on to lend her voice in numerous Doctor Who audio books later in her career.
