Jessie Buckley is an Irish Actress and Singer. She was born on 28 December, 1989. She is the child of Marina Cassidy and Tim Buckley and has a younger brother and three little sisters. She graduated from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and also became a member of the Tipperary Millennium Orchestra. She began her career in 2008 by performing on Denny Street in Tralee for RTE Radio 1. On 18 September 2008, Jessie and Aoife Mulholland performed with the RTE Concert Orchestra at the National Concert Hall in Dublin, an event held by Lloyd Webber. After graduation in 2013,she played Miranda in the Tempest, during Shakespeare’s Globe 2013 summer season. In 2016, Jessie portrayed Marya Bolkonskaya in BBC’s new dramatisation of War and Peace. She also starred in BBC One’s drama ‘The Last Post’ in 2017 and as Marain Halcombe in novel ‘The Woman in White’ in 2018. 

Jessie made her film debut through the psychological thriller ‘Beast’ in 2017, which was a great hit. She also was a part of Country Music Drama ‘ Wild Rose Click to look into! >> Read More... ’, whose official soundtrack also topped the UK Country Albums Chart. At the 73rd British Academy Film Awards for her immersive performance, Jessie was rewarded with a nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role. From then, Jessie’s acting career has been high while featuring in more than 37 movies and TV shows.

The most notable include ‘Romeo & Juliet’, ‘Fargo’, ‘The Courier’, ‘Chernobyl’, ‘The Last Post’ and ‘Wicked Little Letters’. In 2022, she released the collaborative album For All Our Days That Tear The Heart with Bernard Butler. Jessie has received nominations for the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical for portraying Sally Bowles in a 2021 West End theatre revival of Cabaret.
