This miniseries of five hours is a humble but excellent attempt at paying respect to all those men and women who lost their lives on that eventful day- the workers present on the site and the first responders. It tells the story of the people responsible for this disaster and the ones who spoke up about it.

It starts on the note of a nuclear safety test going awfully wrong in the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant. What follows is the heart-wrenching efforts of the scientists and the politicians to cover it up from being an international disaster. This series tackles scientific facts and makes it relatable and understandable for the audience while also adding a humane side to it.

Jared Harris, who plays the role of the lead scientist called Valery Lagasov attempts at containing this disaster while Stellan Skarsgard playing the role of a Soviet politician deals with the political repercussions of the event while Emily Watson playing the role of a nuclear physicist works on uncovering the truth behind the horror.

Overall, this series, along with its great performances and story, has been critically acclaimed throughout the cinematic world.
