Samrat Chakrabarti was born in London, England, on 22 August 1975 in an Indian Hindu Bengali family. He is a British American Actor, Writer, and Musician well known for the T.V series like The Sinner (2017), NCIS: New Orleans (2014), etc. Samrat used to perform plays of Rabindranath Tagore in some events and celebrations in the Indian community in Boston, Massachusetts, the USA. At Harvard University, he did a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Acting.
In 2004, Chakrabarti made his feature film debut in Spike Lee’s; She Hates Me, in which he impersonated the role of Ahmad. He also got a role in an Australian Movie, The Waiting City. "Please Don't Go" from the album Suit Up was a hit.
For his song "What's It All About," he won a CARA (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award) in the United States for Best Original Pop/Rock Song. In 1998, Chakrabarti composed several Untitled albums for JYDE. He also produced “Dhol Beat” for Lions of Punjab Presents and Natvar Bhavsar: Poetics of Color, Sundaram Tagore.
