James D. Brubaker

James D. Brubaker was born on 30 March 1937. He was born in Hollywood, California and is also called Jim. He is an American Producer as well as a Hollywood actor. He is best known for Rocky III, Liar Liar and Bruce Almighty. James was born to Dudley Sutton Brubaker and Margaret Hayes. He is German as well as Swiss with no siblings. He worked as a Unit Production Manager and produced many Hollywood films that had a big budget and went on to be blockbusters. John's career in the Industry began with driving trucks in Los Angeles across studios and film sets.

He worked for the Teamsters union and soon got to work at Raleigh Studios with the transportation department. He worked on the series Highway Patrolman and later on driving Elvis Presley in Las Vegas. He soon moved on to driving for John Wayne, an American Icon. John was the producer of many great movies including the Greatest Story Ever Told and Big j\Jake. He worked hard and made his way up with every new venture. He served as a driver for fifteen years in many movies, including The Godfather II in 1974.

Being a crew member helped him understand production. James soon decided to take up a career as a Unit Production Manager. His experience and the time spent on the sets led him to believe in the field and a brighter future. James was the producer of more than fifty films from fourteen countries, with a total budget of more than a billion dollars. His first project as a unit Production manager was in 1978 in Comes a Horseman. It got an Oscar nomination and won many other rewards. His other works as a producer include Rocky III, Life, and K-9. He was the executive producer of Liar Liar in 1997 with Jim Carrey. He was the co-producer on The Nutty Professor. Both were a huge success. Both of these were Universal Pictures and Imagine movies.

James went on to produce the award winning movie Gia in 1998 starring Angelina Jolie. The HBO movie by Michael Christopher won him the prestigious DGA's Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Television in movies. He got nominated for Primetime Emmy Award but couldn't win it. His career was pretty extensive as a producer. James served as a teacher and lecturer at UCLA. He was also the advisor to filmmakers at the USC. He created opportunities for trainees on his films and increased their experience by working with Streetlights.

The program focussed mostly on the youth in film crafts. He became a member of Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission for a year. All these and many more such experiences bought him a new opportunity. James became the President of Physical Production at Universal Studios in 2002. He was responsible for seeing the efficient programming of physical production for Universal Pictures. Ron Lynch left the job to produce films, and James replaced him. The organization was quite fortunate to have him look over all their releases.

His experience and hard work were appreciated, and he got the job done efficiently. He worked there for five years until 2007. James was last seen as an Executive producer in Jayne Mansfield in 2012. He lives in Beverly Hills in California now, with three children. James’ children are following his footsteps and are trying to leave their mark on the Industry, just like their father.
