Nina Davuluri is an American public speaker, advocate, and Miss America. She was born on April 20, 1989, in New York Click to look into! >> Read More... , in a Telugu family from India. She is very fluent in Telugu. Nina's mother is an Information technology specialist, her father is a gynecologist, and her sister is a doctor. When she was six weeks old, Nina was brought to live with her grandmother and aunt in Andhra Pradesh. Nina lived there until she was two-and-a-half years old. When her parents brought her back to the US, she returned to India each summer to study Indian dance.
In 2011, at the University of Michigan, she completed a B.S. in Brain Behavior and Cognitive Science. Nina is the first Indian American Miss America, and Miss New York. Her achievement as the first Indian American contestant to win both the Miss New York and Miss America contests was a proud moment for her. She is also the second Asian American to win Miss America. Since completing her year as Miss America, Nina has worked as a public speaker and advocate, especially for diversity, gender equality, and the promotion of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) education.
She has an excellent working experience, as She has worked with top technology companies such as Google, NASA, Dell, & Texas Instruments in addition to the Sacramento Kings Foundation to further their women in STEM initiatives.
