Matt Bellamy, whose full name is Matthew James Bellamy, is a British singer, songwriter, musician, composer, and a multi-instrumentalist. He was born on June 9, 1978, in Cambridge, England. He is the son of George Bellamy, who was the lead guitarist of the first English pop band named Tornados, whose songs attained the number one status in the United States of America. His mother's name is Marilyn. Matt also has an elder brother named Paul. His mom and dad fell in love while George was struggling as a taxi driver. Later, however, they divorced, and Marilyn had the custody of her children. Matt was drawn to music from the tender age of six and learned to play the piano. By his eleventh birthday, he was able to string a tune on guitar, and at twelve, he performed for the first time on stage at his school's festival.
He studied at Teignmouth Community College. While studying there, Matt was part of bands like Gothic Plague and Carnage Mayhem. However, except Matt and Dominic Howard, the other members parted ways with Gothic Plague which prompted them to request Wolstenholme to join him. He relented, and they named themselves Rocket Baby Dolls. Rocket Baby Dolls won several competitions in the school. Very soon they became the vogue, and it forced them to take the band seriously. Keeping this in mind, they rechristened the name of the group to Muse. Though they struggled initially, Miss went on to become a huge success. The albums that Muse produced are Origin of Symmetry, Drones, HAARP, Showbiz, The 2nd Law, The Resistance, Hullabaloo, Black Holes and Revelations, and Absolution.

, an American artist. She also bore a child out of their union named Bingham Hawn "Bing" Bellamy. His birthday fell on July 9, 2011. However, they ended their engagement on December 2014. Despite their relationship going kaput, the two have managed to retain their friendship. Currently, he is dating Elle Evans. Gigwise ranked him at the nineteenth spot in their list of The 50 Greatest Guitarists Ever while Kerrang!, a magazine, ranked him at the twenty-eighth position in their poll of 50 Sexiest People in Rock.
