Vicky Krieps is a Luxembourgish actress who has starred in several Luxembourg, French, English, American and German productions. She was born on the 4th of October, 1983, in Luxembourg city. She is the daughter of a Luxembourgish father, who managed a film distribution company and of a German Mother.
Her grandfather Robert Krieps is a Luxembourgish politician and war-time member of Luxembourg resistance. Vicky has a daughter by the name of Elisa with her partner, German actor Jonas Laux. Vicky's first acting experience was at the Lycée de Garçons in Luxembourg; she also received training at the Conservatoire of Luxembourg city from there she went to the Zurich University of Arts, Switzerland. Vicky's career kicked off with a Luxembourgian-German drama film titled, ‘House of Boys (2009)’.
She had played roles before this as Christina in ‘La Nuit passée’(2008) and as Ana in ‘X on a Map(2009)’. After the ‘House of Boys’ Vicky went on to play roles in foreign productions such as Hanna(2011), The Biopic Rommel(2013) and Before The Winter Chill(2013). In 2017 Vicky had her first English role alongside Camilla Rutherford, Lesley Manville, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Brian Gleeson in Paul Thomas Anderson's movie, Phantom Thread. Krieps got nominated in the category of best actress at the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards and the Boston Society of Film Critics Awards, for the movie.
In 2018 Vicky starred in a movie titled 'A Girl In The Spiderweb,’ she also started a recurring role in a Tv show titled 'Das Boot.’ Some of the Awards Ms.Krieps has won the 2008 Budapest Short Film Festival-Best Youngster Award for the role she played as Christina in La Nuit Passée and Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis-Prix du Jeune Espoir (Luxembourg Film Awards, Young Newcomer Award) in 2012.
