Lapotaire has worked in many TV shows including ‘Bella and the Boys', ‘He Knew He Was Right’, ‘Macbeth', ‘The Devils Crown’, etc..She won Broadways Tony Award in the year 1981 for the Best Actress ( Play ) for the role of Edith Piaf in ‘Piaf’’.She has written many memoirs: Out of Order: A Haphazard Journey Through One Woman’s Year, Everybody’s daughter, Nobody’s Child and more.
Jane Lapotaire is also a famous British film star and a renowned writer, born in Ipswich, the United Kingdom on 26 December 1941. She was married to  Roland Joffé from  1974 to 1980. Their son Rowan Joffé grew up to become a screenwriter . After her divorce with Ronald, she was for some time together with Michael Pennington. She is a Honorary President of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre, where she previously studied, and President of the-the Friends of Shakespeare’s Globe.
In the year of 2000 while she was in France, working, Lapotaire suffered from a cerebral hemorrhage; however she survived it. She has written another memoir dedicated to her recovery through this stage, called, ‘Time Out of Mind.’ In the book, she claims that she feels she’s in hell.She had written in her book that she penned the book since she was infuriated by the lack of wisdom about the core subject.Â
