Daisy Ridley is a popular English actress. Her full name happens to be Daisy Jazz Isobel Ridley, who started her career in acting by playing small television roles. She has two older sisters namely Poppy Sophia and Kika Rose. Her parents are Chris Augustine and Louise Fawkner-Corbett. She is also known to have two other older sisters from the first marriage of her father. She got a scholarship to Tring Park School at Hertfordshire. She then studied classical civilization at the University of London at Birkbeck but dropped out to concentrate on acting. She played minor roles in many TV programs like Toast of London, Youngers, Silent Witness, Casualty and Mr Selfridge. She played in Blue Season, a short film. She played lead roles in an interactive film named three of Lifesaver. She got nominated for the BAFTA Award. She appeared in the video for "Lights On" of Wiley. According to the biweekly magazine, Rolling Stone, she was totally unknown at the time of casting in first Star Wars film. She has a box-office hit in her success account for the film The Force Awakens and the highest-grossing film of 2015.

She was called " the real star of the show" by Brian Viner after the early selection of the film. She is known to continue her Rey role in the 8th episode of Star Wars which expected to be released probably in December 2017 as per the schedule. She acted many other short films apart from Blue Season namely Lifesaver, 100% BEEF and also Crossed Wires in the year 2013. In 2015, she acted as Hannah in the film titled Scrawl Vand as Taeko Okajima in "Only Yesterday" in the year 2016. She acted in the episode called "And the Walls Come Tumbling Down" in the British Medical Drama series titled "Casualty" in 2013. In the same year, she acted as Jessie in the drama series "Youngers" in the episode named "A to B and the Apology" and appeared as Charlotte in the "Toast of London" in the episode titled "Vanity Project". She acted in 2 episodes of "Silent Witness", a British crime drama series in the year 2014 as Hannah and Kennedy. In the episode titled "2.8" of Mr Selfridge, she was roled as Roxy Starlet in the same year. In 2015, in the American late-night live television sketch comedy and variety show, she roled in a segment called "Star Wars Auditions".
