James Andrew Eric Phelps is a British actor. He was born on February 25, 1986, in Birmingham, England. He spent his childhood, and teenage years with his parents, Martyn and Susan Phelps, and his twin brother, Oliver Phelps.
James is younger than Oliver by thirteen minutes. James completed his schooling from the Little Sutton Primary School and the Arthur Terry Secondary School. James and Oliver have an ardent love for golf, and they regularly play golf together.
James's handicap is a twenty. James loves Rock Music and playing Play Station with Oliver. Both twins also love watching football. James is a huge supporter of the Birmingham City Football Club. The actor is best-known for his role in the iconic Harry Potter films.
In 2000, James with his twin brother, Oliver bunked school to audition for the Harry Potter series. James had no previous experience in acting, but after a series of auditioning rounds, he and Oliver got selected to play the parts of Fred Weasley and George Weasley respectively, in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."
The twins later went on to play the parts of Fred and George in the subsequent films as well. The twins are famous for their redhead, but in reality, they have coffee brown hair, and they had to dye their hair ginger red for almost as long as ten years.
James Phelps is a very generous and helping person. Apart from his role as Fred in the Harry Potter series, he also worked as a runner on the sets of the Harry Potter films, and also on the shooting sets of "The Da Vinci Code."
In 2009, James Phelps appeared in an episode of Season 3 of the television series, "Kingdom." In 2012, James along with Oliver starred in a short documentary, focusing on Plato's philosophy, titled, "A Mind's Eye." James and Oliver have always been an active part of the Harry Potter promotional tours.
James along with Oliver even made a Live Cast, where they answered all the questions of the Potter Heads. James Phelps played the role of Fred Weasley in all the Harry Potter films, which include, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban," "Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire," "Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix," "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 1," and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 2."
All the films are adaptations of the fantasy novels of the same names by British-author, J. K. Rowling. Some other motion pictures in which James performs include, "Ward 3," "The Turn," "Own Worst Enemy," "King of the Nerds," and "Danny and the Human Zoo."
Both James and Oliver participate in charity projects. The twins plant trees on a regular basis. They are supporters of Teenage Cancer Trust. The twins participated in a skydive for Cancer research in Australia. They even took part in the Virgin Money Giving Drive.
Just like his character of Fred Weasley in the films, James also loves to play pranks. Both the twins are pranksters, and often confuse people by switching names. Though both are fun lovers, James is considered to be the more diligent twin.
James's character in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows- Part 2" dies; when asked about his experience of filming Fred Wesley's death, James claims that it was the toughest scene he had to shoot for the entire series. He considered the feeling to be surreal.
