Hugh Dancy aka Hugh Michael Horace Dancy is an actor, born in Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire, England. His mother Sarah Ann works in academic printing, and his father Jonathan Peter Dancy is a theorist and writer. Hugh has a younger brother Jack who is co-director of the travel company Trufflepig Travel and a younger sister Kate. He attended Edenhurst Preparatory School then attended boarding school at the Dragon School in Oxford then attended Winchester College. Later he went on to study English under poet and playwright Francis Warner at St Peter's College, Oxford.
After completing his graduation, he moved to London where by chance he met casting director Ross Hubbard and agent Dallas, who signed him.
