He was born a Federal Aviation Administration manager Molly Burns and Edward J. Burns a police sergeant. He has two siblings named Mary and Brian. Before moving onto Hewlett High School, Edward had a brief schooling at Chaminade High School. He was brought up in the Valley Stream, New York on Long Island. After his school days, Burns attended SUNY Oneonta, University at Albany and Hunter College for his graduation. After his graduation, he worked as a production assistant for various TV shows like Entertainment Tonight.
