The movie throws light on the darker side of Wall Street, New York where there are hundreds without a job. There are a lot of disgruntled people, and the movie character Nick resembles one of those. Nick books a room for himself in a New York hotel under a different name. He emerges on the ledge of the hotel and is about to jump down several feet to his death.Â
People gather, some with empathy and many others with curiosity. The police negotiator Lydia Mercer emerges, and she gently dissuades the ex-cop Nick from committing suicide. Lydia has a bizarre realization that any delay would prove a threat not alone to Nick but other people also. She senses something ulterior about Nick’s motive.Â
The rest of the movie has some thrilling moments in it, and the climax is worthwhile. Sam Worthington does the role of a retired police officer Nick Cassidy in the movie. Elizabeth Banks appears to be a misfit into her role as negotiating officer Lydia Mercer. But, she enjoys doing the role. Jamie Bell and Genesis Rodriguez appear in the movie, and there is a fairly good chemistry between the two.

There are some flaws in the plot that makes the movie somewhat silly. Also, the movie bears the resemblance to previous Hollywood thrillers. Although the movie appears plagiarized, there is some amazement it manages to cause. The stringent investment into to the film does not mean that it is not worth watching. Few moments draw the audiences to the edge of their seats. But, do not be drawn to the theaters expecting a full-fledged thriller.
