He served as the director and editor of Ikana Health+Media, Sierra/Tango Productions, and the Global Health Reporting Center. At Columbia University, he earned his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in directing and screenwriting and his BA in Economics from the University of Chicago. The Hungry Stones (2017), Sariwala (2014), and Nova are among the works of Shayon Maitra (1974). He has edited the films Heart of the Matter and Unmasked and other branded content for prestigious clients. Shayon has also worked as an editor on several student films screened at film festivals like the Berlinale, SXSW, Palm Springs, Hollyshorts, FlickerFest Rhode Island, and OutFest.
