Shilpi Roy is a director and writer from India. She was raised in northern California. Shilpi Roy is well known for Brown Girls, released in 2017; Hipsterhood, released in 2012; and Disillusioned, released in 2015. She attended Vanderbilt University and studied psychology and economics. She received the Chancellor's Scholarship award from the university. Later, she attended the USC School of Cinematic Arts for an MFA in Production. She also worked with industry giants such as Joel Wyman and Thomas Carter. Shilpi Roy has worked with some notable companies, such as PlayboyTV as a Digital Content Producer and Brave New Films as an Editor. Her notable projects include Samosas and Psalms. Shilpi Roy has also won the prestigious Annenberg Fellowship.
