Jonathan Krisel is an American director, producer, screenwriter, editor, and occasional actor born on January 4, 1979. He is acknowledged for co-developing the comedy series Portlandia and the 2016 FX series Baskets. He has also produced some different tv shows, along with The Kroll Show, Man Seeking Woman, and, most recently, Showtime's Moonbase 8. He executive produced the Fox pilot Ghosted and has worked on more than one SNL Digital Shorts with The Lonely Island. Jonathan Krisel started his profession as an animator, producer, and senior editor with the comedy duo Tim & Eric in 2006. From 2007 to 2010, he worked on their comic strip comedy series‘Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!’, as director, screenwriter, co-executive producer, and editor.
He also helped to write the screenplay for Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie, which launched in 2012. Since 2011, he has co-created, written, and executive produced each episode of the satirical comic strip comedy collection Portlandia and directed fifty-two in addition to directing fifty-two episodes (along with the primary 44). Baskets is his comedic sitcom, which he co-created. Krisel additionally serves as executive producer and number one director for the show.
