Jonathan secured a degree in musical theatre before moving to Los Angeles and began his career in the entertainment industry, where he worked as an actor, writer, producer, and director. Jonathan is married to Carly Hirsch and they have two children, names Wesley and Beatrix. Jonathan's artwork includes six seasons in South Park, where the show won three Emmy Awards and a Peabody. He has also dubbed several records, including his brother Jimmy in the episode of "Fish Stick". Subsequently, he served as a co-executive producer and director.

For Andy Milonaki's MTV show he was rolled in as a screenwriter; and for Crank Yankers, he worked as a songwriter and voice actor. As per June 2021 reports, KFC and its iconic bucket are eminently featured in a brand new episode of "Crank Yankers," marking the primary logo integration at the long-jogging Comedy Central show. Jonathan's other artwork includes - This Is My Bush!, Draw Together, The Bonnie Hunt Show, and The People Show. Jonathan is currently the executive producer and director of the Hell Foreigner Restart at Comedy Central. Jonathan's plays include guest roles in Life with Bonnie; Xavier's role in the ABC pilot episode "Let Go", the voice of Scab in Disney's Wildlife, Sarah Silverman's "Magic Jesus"

Kimmel also played various roles in Sarah Silverman's show. He also filmed the video for Killers' ninth Christmas charity single "Joel the Lump of Coal", and his brother Jimmy also co-wrote the song. He presently resides in LA and works as a segment Director on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" when three years as an author on the program.
