Fawzia Mirza

Fawzia Mirza is a famous Actress, Writer, Director, and successful Producer. She is from Canada. She is famously known for filmmaking and Queer Muslim Advocate. She completed her high school in Indiana. She graduated in English and Political Science from Indiana University, and then she studied in Chicago for law school. She has changed her career to Acting after working as a litigator for two and half years.

She has done many award-winning short films like “The First Session,” released in 2015, “Spunkle,” released in 2016, “Reclaiming Pakistan,” released in 2015, “The Streets Are Ours,” released in 2016, “Saya,” released in 2019, and “I know her,” released in 2019 where she played the role as a Writer, Producer, and a Star. She has worked as a Writer, Producer, and  an Actor for short documentaries such as “Reclaiming Pakistan,” released in 2015, and “Two Lesbians in Search of Allah,” released in 2017.

She is a director and writer for short films such as “Jiyo,” released in 2020, “Noor & Layla,” released in 2021, and “The Sayed Family Xmas Eve Game Night,” released in 2021.She has also worked in several web series such as “Kam Kardashian,” released in 2012, “Brown Girl Problem,” released in 2014, “You Should know This By now,” released in 2017, and “Hidden Canyons,” released in 2020.

She has worked as a Director and Writer for the Feature Film “The Queen of My Dreams,” released in 2023. This film was selected in the Toronto International Film Festival Writers Studio and Filmmaker Lab, under the working title Me, Mom & Sharmila. She was a co-writer and starred in “Signature Move,” a feature film that world premiered at SXSW and won 15 awards.
