Born on two June 1935 in Cheshire, England, UK,David Roger Brierley is an Actor, Soundtrack, Producer. He developed his career on stage, television, and screen in more than forty years. Tall British Actor of Commanding presence,often seen as authority figures as Magistrates, Doctors, Headmaster andHotel Manager. He was a chattered account before acting and a member of the Equity council from 1984-86.Formany years he was an invaluable joint treasurer of “The Actor’s Charitable Trust.” Brierley was passionate about Manchester United and was a founding member of shareholders united against Murdoch. Being the son of a chartered accountant and an adjudicator of theatre dictator,Roger was allowed to act on condition that he studied accountancy on leaving Cheadle Hulme school.

He was a pupil from 1943 to 1953.From doing his National service in the education corps, Teaching at the army apprentice school in Carlisle to Commanding his first presence on stage and a season with peter Brook’s RSC ensemble,Roger proved his abilities like the Flames of Fire. Not even a national service stopped him from acting. Television work-The Likely Lads, Doctor Who- came quickly. He was in a relationship with actress Gillian Mc Cutcheon and had a son, Oliver. Briefly appeared in dozens of Television Productions over forty years, twice in ‘Doctor Who,’as the voice of Drathro in the ‘Mysterious Planet,’in the biopic Jinnah on ‘the life of Muhammad Ali Jinnah’, as Michael Palin’s Latin teacher in an episode of ‘Ripping Yarns called Roger of the Raj’and it was first shown byBBC in 1979.

He played the roleof ‘hotel manager’ in “Mr.Bean in room 426”.He was featured regularly on British television. His roles included bomb man in the Eiffel tower in superman II, Detective’s father in Young sherlock homes and recent work included portraying John Biffen in the TV dramatization of The Alan Clark Diaries (2004). One of the most achievements, He worked on several occasions with Victoria Wood over the years. Firstly on her series ‘Wood and Walters’ and a final time in 1994 in her TV film screen one: ‘Pat and Margaret.’ Wood later remembered her previous work with Brierley, and in her TV film Housewife, 49 (2006), where she named a character after him.

Breathed his last on 23 September2005, Brierley is remembered for his astounding character. He has a good memory, is highly intelligent, well-balanced, and with strong mental abilities.
