Leslie Jordan was born on April 29, 1955, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is an American singer, writer, and actor. He is best known for his roles in Hearts Afire (1993–1995), Will & Grace, the American Horror Story franchise, The Cool Kids, and Call Me Kat (2021). Leslie's most popular performance was in Sordid Lives, in which he played the character Earl "Brother Boy" Ingram. Leslie graduated from Brainerd High School. When Jordan moved to Los Angeles in 1982, he started abusing drugs and alcohol and was arrested many times. He started journaling his daily activities, which helped him in his recovery from alcoholism. Jordan began journaling on a regular basis when he was 27 years old.
Guest appearances on Murphy Brown, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Star Trek: Voyager, Caroline in the City, Pee-Playhouse, Wee's Reba, Boston Public, Boston Legal, and Nash Bridges are among his television credits. In 2007, he appeared as celebrity-Trasher Quincy Combs in the comedy-drama Ugly Betty Ugly Betty was an English comedy-drama series, tha >> Read More... , and as Jesse Joe in the short-lived CW television show Hidden Palms. In 2006, Jordan bagged an Emmy Award for Best Guest Actor in a Comedy Sitcom at the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards for his role as Beverley Leslie, Karen's pompous, sexually ambiguous adversary on the television series Will & Grace.
"Hysterical Blindness", and "Other Southern Tragedies That Have Plagued My Life Thus Far" were Jordan's first autobiographical stage pieces, and they were written by Joe Patrick Ward and also included music and lyrics by Jordan. Jordan was accompanied by a gospel choir performing satirical songs about racism and homophobia in the off-Broadway play, which lasted for seven months at the SoHo Playhouse. Company's Comin', a gospel music album, was released by him in 2021. He is out and proudly homosexual. He is the author of several publications, including Lost in the Pershing Point Hotel (a play), My Trip Down the Pink Carpet (2008), Hysterical Blindness, and Other Southern Tragedies That Have Plagued My Life Thus Far, and How Y'all Doing? : Misadventures and Mischief from a Life Well Lived (2021).
