His career spanned around 200 movies, television shows, and stage performances. Early life- Mr. Karen was born Jacob Karnofsky in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. In his childhood days, he often accompanied his Russian immigrant father to watch silent movies and read the titles for him. At a very young age, he was encouraged to pursue acting as a career by U.S. Congressman Daniel J. Flood, who was a part-time actor himself.

Movies like “The Return of the Living Dead,” “The China Syndrome,” and “Wall Street” contributed most to his soaring filmy career. Later in his life, he starred in the blockbuster movie “The Pursuit of Happyness” (2006). He ended his prolific career by starring in movies like “Bender” (2016) and “Cynthia” (2018). Awards and accolades- He was nominated for “Saturn Award for Best Actor” for his role in the movie “The Return of the Living Dead.” Following this, he was nominated for “Fangoria Chainsaw Awards for Best Supporting Actor” in the movie “The unborn.”
He was honored with “Saturn Award” in 1998 for his contribution to horror films. He was also being awarded “The Buster Award” by The International Buster Keaton Society.
