Gary Dourdan

Gary Dourdan (born Gary Robert Durdin on December 11, 1966) is an actor from the United States. Dourdan was born in the city of Philadelphia. He grew up in Willingboro, New Jersey, with his family. His interests at the time included acting, music, and martial arts. Dourdan later relocated to New York City, where he worked as a doorman at a rehearsal studio, where he met some of Manhattan's promising young artists.

In the early 1990s, Dourdan was a member of several bands in New York City and performed in regional theatre throughout the tristate area. Debbie Allen cast him as Shazza Zulu on A Different World, based on a tape of him in an avant-garde play, and he got his first break. Dourdan appeared as Ziggy, an assistant to Baron Sunday, in the Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman episode "Never On Sunday" in 1996. In1997, Alien film: The Resurrection, Dourdan played Christie, the first friend and the second command of the Betty spacecraft.

Dourdan performed onstage with hip-hop artist DMC (of Run–D.M.C.) at the Live 8concert in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, and sang with Macy Gray at the 2005 Emmy Awards. He is a record producer and an alternative musician. In the 2007 film Perfect Stranger, he played Cameron, the boyfriend of Rowena Price (Halle Berry).

Dourdan came to popularity as a member of the original CSI series, which debuted on October 6, 2000. He portrayed analyst Warrick Brown, who, as viewers learn, has a tumultuous past riddled with gambling issues. Ultimately, Dourdan spends the entire show battling his demons rather than overcoming them. After leaving, CSI, he appeared as Stephan on Christine and Sheldon DeWitt on Being Mary Jane in recurring roles.

While talking about his personal life, Dourdan descends from African-Americans, Native Americans, Haitians, Jews, Irish, and Scots. In 1992, he married model Roshumba Williams, but the couple split up two years later. Lyric, his son, is Dourdan's child with Cynthia Hadden, and Nyla, his daughter, is Dourdan's child with Jennifer Sutton, whom Dourdan dated between 1995 and 2000.
