King completed his studies at the Duke Ellington High School of Performing Arts in Washington DC and Towson University, Baltimore MD. His role as a young black man in the mini-series called "Kennedy" (1983) was his debut in the television world. Since then, he can be seen in many television series like; Spencer: For Hire, Matlock, any Day Now, Oz, Law and Order, Golden Years, The Roundtable, The Invaders, NYPD Blue, JAG, Touched by an Angel, Charmed, The Twilight Zone, Dexter, Memphis Beat, South of Hell, Mistresses, The Detour, The Oath, The Good Fight, etc.
King became a part of the film industry through the 1987 film Street Smart.
