Ben Barrington is a professional actor who hails from Auckland, New Zealand. He is best known for his role in the soap opera “Shortland Street”(2015-present). He became passionate about acting while studying at Waikato University. He graduated with a degree in Performing Arts(acting) from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School in 2001. He got married to makeup artist Kristie Fergus, in March 2019. Barrington is well-known for his role in the fantasy comedy series “The Almighty Johnsons”(2011-13) as Olaf Johnson.
Apart from this, he had appeared in many other New Zealand productions like The “Insider's Guide To Happiness”(2004), “The Insider's Guide To Love”(2005), “The Strip”(2002-03), “Outrageous Fortune”(2006-07), “Top Of The Lake”(2013) and “Offspring”(2014). He also appeared in the popular movie “The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe” as the centaur in 2005. He had won many awards like the Chapman Tripp Award for his stage work, and had been nominated for several gigs like New Zealand Screen Awards(2005) and Qantas Media Awards(2005) for “Insiders Guide to Happiness”.
