Shubhankar Das is an Indian theatre artist and actor who works mainly in Hindi television serials and cinemas. He was born and brought up in the Balasore city of Odisha. Subhankar Das attained a degree in engineering from the Seemanta Engineering College, located in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. He earned a postgraduate degree in Dramatic Art from Bharatendu Natya Academy, situated in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Subhankar Das remained uninterested in acting during his early childhood and teenage years. His participation in plays during his college days and receiving numerous awards for his performance brought him an interest in acting.

After realising his passion, Subhankar wanted to pursue an acting career. However, his parents were reluctant to support the decision. He then secured a job in a Bengaluru-based software company. After noticing Subhankar is unhappy with his life as an engineer, his parents decided to support his passion. Subhankar began his acting venture after joining a Delhi-based theatre group. Upon realising that he needed to improve his Hindi, Subhankar studied in Uttar Pradesh for two years and moved to Mumbai, Maharashtra. He got his first break as a supporting actor in the 2015 Zee TV serial Lajwanti.
