Shweta Tripathi

Shweta Tripathi was born on the 6th of July in the year 1985 in Delhi. She spent most of her early life in Delhi except for three years where she lived in Andaman and Nicobar islands. She studied in the school DPS RK Puram after which, she went on to study at NIFT in Delhi. Her father and mother are very culturally driven and encouraged Shweta to participate in elocutions, debates and dramas. She credits this with her personality development. Once her education was over, she moved to Mumbai. She interned with the magazine Femina for four months.

During this time, she wrote and took photographs for the magazine. But she eventually quit because the acting was not her calling. She even worked at editing trailers at Pixion Trailer House in Mumbai. She was also part of the theater group that created "All My Tea Productions" a theater company. She has stated that "All My Tea" is a group which not only wanted to entertain people but also to show exactly how society exists. Through their plays, they wanted to show issues prevalent in the society.

Her first on-screen role was in the Disney Channel show " Kya Mast Hai Life 'Kya Mast Hai Life' received the best tell >> Read More... ", where Shweta is remembered for her role Zenia Khan the tom-boyish girl. She was a series regular and acted in both Season 1 and Season 2 from 2009 to 2010 onwards. In 2011, she acted in a minor role as Shweta in the movie Trishna. Her acting in the 2015 with Indo-French production Masaan as Shalu Gupta, a girl in love with a boy from a lower-caste, got her noticed within the film fraternity. It got screened at The Cannes 2015. She has also acted in the 2015 movie " Haraamkhor Click to look into! >> Read More... " as Sandhya, an adolescent in love with her teacher. It premiered at the 15th Annual New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) and Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA).

Apart from films, Shweta Tripathi is also noted for the catchy ads. She worked in ads for Pepsi, Tanishq Inara, Vodafone, Mirinda, Kinley, Tata Tea, Alpenlibe to name a few. Shweta had stated in one of her interviews that she is choosy even when it comes to Ad films because she believes that even advertisements have to be performance driven. She also abstains from acting in fairness cream ads because she believes that actors are responsible for whatever they choose to endorse. Shweta's favourite pastimes apart from acting are photography and dancing. She is an Adventure enthusiast and is also a licensed scuba diver.
