Pallav Gupta a great Bengali film diirector. He was born in Kolkata, West Bengal On June 15, 1973, He graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune with a degree in film directing (FTII). As Rituparno Ghosh's assistant director, Pallav got his start in the business. He contributed to numerous of Ghosh's movies, such as "Unishe April" and "Chokher Bali," which allowed him to develop crucial film business skills. In the Bengali movie "Nirbasito," which was based on the biography of exiled author Taslima Nasrin, Pallab made his directorial debut. The movie was well-received by critics and earned several honors, including the National Film Award for Best Bengali Film.

"The Sound of Silence," "Shironam," and "Purba Paschim Dakkhin Uttor Ashbei" are some of Pallav's other well-known compositions.
