Dr Subhendu Chatterjee was a well-known Indian physician and actor, primarily active in the Bengali film and television industries. He was born on 29 November 1936 in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, British India, to Shailendra Chattopadhyay and Manimala Devi. Subhendu joined Calcutta Medical College in 1953 and completed his MBBS in 1960. He started working as a physician in Civil Defence and later joined Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
