Born November fourteenth, 1888, Sarada Ukil was the oldest of three brothers. Ranada and Barada were the names of his two brothers. Known for his part in the film Prem Sanyas, The Light of Asia, he was a Bengali actor and artist. In the 1925 Indo-European co-production still film Prem Sanyas, Sarada Ukil portrayed King Shuddhodana. The film explains Prince Gautama Buddha, who attained enlightenment and later assumed the title of Buddha or Enlightened One. Sarada Ukil moved to Delhi in 1918 after leaving his hometown of Bikrampur, Dhaka.
He began teaching art to several students in his home around 1926, and his brothers eventually joined him in the late 1920s. His work typically features mythological figures drawn with delicate shading and background-blending characteristics. Seven of his best works are up for auction, and the beauty they carry is immaculate. Shantanu Ukil became one of the founders of the Bengal School of Art. He expired on July twenty-first, 1940, in New Delhi. He was a creative mind, inspiring many people and giving them the confidence to believe in their dreams.
