Christy is scripted and directed by Alvin Henry. The screenplay is by Benyamin and Indugopan. Govind Menon composed the music. Kannan Satheesan and Sajai Sebastian produced the film. “Anend C Chandran” cranked the camera, and editing is by Manu Antony. Malavika Mohanan, Mathew Thomas, Neena Kurup, Sminu Sijo, Joy Mathew, Vineeth Vishwam, Sibi Thomas, Veena Nair, Rajesh Madhavan, Manju Pathrose, “Muthumani,” Vincent Vadakkan, and Savithri Sreedaharan are cast.
Plot
Christy is a divorcee, and she works as a teacher. One of her students, Roy, is weak in his studies. He, who calls her sister, passes the final year board exams due to her teaching. He loves her company, but gradually his affection toward her turns out to be love, and he wants to marry her. Christy didn’t say No to him but also didn’t nod Yes. Christy’s father is a spendthrift, and due to the family conditions, she gets a teaching job in the Maldives and moves there. This comes as a shock to Roy. The rest of the film focuses on how Roy wants to keep her with him.
Star Performance
Malavika Mohanan has done justice to the given role. Mathew did his best as a confused youngster, and their chemistry worked well.
Analysis
Though the teacher-student love stories are not new, this one is a bit different. It is told in a gentle way from Roy’s perspective and not from Christy’s. If Christy’s perspective is also shown, it would’ve been better to decide. Christy neither says Yes nor No when Roy proposes. She didn’t stop him when he tried to move close to her. The music composition by Govind Vasantha is splendid, and the visuals are fabulous too. The film has good technical and production values.

Verdict
Christy has a couple of good performances, and it might impress the teenagers. It is a one-time watch!
