Vamsham is a popular Malayalam language daily soap-opera that premiered on 10th June 2013 on Asianet Plus. The serial focuses on the family rivalry between the Thamba and Ammayi families where Thamba intends to destroy the Ammayi lineage. The story begins with Shakthi's mission to reunite her relatives with her parents. However, Shakthi lost her parents in a tragic car accident plotted by her relatives. Shakthi was the lone survivor of the accident thus, her condition was critical. Archana IAS (Shakthi's twin sister) impersonated Shakthi to protect their family from their evil relative Nagavalli. Archana, disguised as Shakthi, married Ponnurangam; her truth came out when the police arrested Ponnurangam for Archana's murder. She disclosed everything to the police and her family. Shakthi's family, after knowing the truth, starts treating Archana as a stranger.
People from Shakthi's past emerge in the story that makes the storyline more interesting. Vamsham is a drama serial; it has various characters that add several twists to the story. The pace of the story makes the plot interesting for the viewers. Various people living different lives are shown to have a connection and relation with Shakthi and Archana's family.
